Jesus Oil is a holy anointing oil that has been faithfully recreated from the recipe and ingredients outlined in Exodus 30:23.
“God directed Moses to make a holy anointing oil composed of Myrrh, sweet cinnamon, Kaneh-bosm, cassia and Olive Oil Also take for yourself quality spices—five hundred shekels of liquid myrrh, half as much sweet-smelling cinnamon (two hundred and fifty shekels), two hundred and fifty shekels of sweet-smelling cane, five hundred shekels of cassia, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, and a hin of olive oil.

The plant known as kaneh-bosm in Aramaic was translated in the Greek Septuagint bible as calamus, an herb with well-known medicinal effects.
Increasingly, however, scholars are increasingly starting to agree that Kaneh-Bosum was actually cannabis and that it was commonly used during and well before the time of Jesus.

The first thing we had to do was figure out how many ounces and grams there were to a Shekel. You’d be amazed how big the recipe in the bible was, it called for a truckload of ingredients.
Sula Benet, a little knows polish etymologist from the institute of Anthropological Sciences in Warsaw was the first to demonstrate. Benet demonstrated that the word for cannabis is kaneh-bosm, also rendered in traditional Hebrew as kaneh or kannabus.
The root kan in this construction means “reed” or “hemp”, while bosm means “aromatic”.
This word appears five times in the Old Testament; in the books of Exodus, the Song of Songs, Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel…. and has been mistranslated as calamus, a common marsh plant with little monetary value that does not have the qualities or value ascribed to kaneh-bosm.
The error occurred in the oldest Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible, the Septuagint in the third century BC, and was repeated in the many translations that followed. Exodus 30:31.
You shall speak to the sons of Israel, saying, “This shall be a holy anointing oil to me throughout your generations. It shall not be poured on anyone’s body, nor shall you make any like it in the same proportions; it is holy, and it shall be holy to you. Whoever shall mix any like it or whoever puts any of it on a layman shall be cut off from his people.
